Big Dreams? Effective Goal Setting
Basics of Effective Goal Setting
Express goals positively: “To improve my spelling” is a much better goal than “Don’t spell with so many mistakes.”
Be accurate: If students set an accurate goal, putting in dates, times and amounts so that achievement can be measured and can be satisfied at achieving it.
Set Priorities: When students have several goals, give each a priority. This helps them avoid feeling overwhelmed and helps their attention to the more important ones.
Write goals down to make them more meaningful.
Keep Goals Small: Urge students to keep their immediate goals small and achievable.
Set Goals Students Have Control Over: There is nothing worse than failing to achieve a personal goal for reasons beyond the students’ control.
Set specific measurable goals: If students consistently fail to meet a measurable goal, then they can adjust it or analyze the reason for failure and take appropriate action.
“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal — a commitment to excellence — that will enable you to attain the success you seek.”
–Mario Andretti

TAMPA- Defund Obamacare?
Republicans agree strongly on their opposition to Obamacare extending health insurance coverage to millions of Americans.
Uninsured learn more about your states health care policies and laws. There are too many stories of families who work hard and can't afford the cost deducted from their pay checks weekly for healthcare.
“They’re afraid to have a showdown with someone who’s tearing up our country,” said Jim DeMint, the former South Carolina senator who now leads the conservative Heritage Foundation. “This is the time. This might be the last off-ramp for us to stop Obamacare before it gets so enmeshed in our culture that it’s impossible to change.”
Outside the Crowne Plaza Westshore, nearly two dozen people with “Hands off my Obamacare” posters stood in protest of the event organized by Heritage Action for America, the political arm of the Heritage Foundation.
Down the street a few hours earlier, a group dedicated to protecting and cheering for Obamacare summoned the media to denounce Heritage Action and its supporters.
“We have one basic message: Don’t repeal our health care. Don’t you dare,” said Brad Woodhouse, president of Americans United for Change, a group created to push back against Republican critics of the Affordable Care Act.
Heritage’s Tampa town hall was the third stop in a nine-city Defund Obamacare national tour, and Woodhouse’s group is organizing pro-Obamacare events at every stop.
“We refuse to let insurance companies go back to denying coverage to millions of Americans who have pre-existing conditions,” Woodhouse said. “We refuse to allow insurance companies make women pay more than men in premiums.
We refuse to have 3.1 million young people kicked off their parents’ insurance. We refuse to cut off 71 million Americans who receive free preventive services because of health reform, such as cancer screenings.”

Shame On You, Abercrombie & Fitch!
Abercrombie & Fitch
So your brand is made for the "good looking"?
My personal shopping experience in many Abercrombie & Fitch locations have all been the same. Uncomfortable from the door, not very welcoming. One can only imagine that our youth are getting smarter and becoming more cost savvy.
"The Kids Aren’t All Right, and Neither Is Abercrombie & Fitch."
Let's go back a few months and maybe shed a little more light on Abercrombie & Fitch.....
Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries has finally formally apologised for comments made six years ago about how "uncool" kids and "fat women" shouldn't be wearing the brand's clothes.
"We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong (in our clothes), and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely."
Get more here:
A&F sells men's clothes in XL and XXL sizes but refuses to sell the equivalent sizes in its women's range.
Huge thumbs down for Abercrombie & Fitch.
