GVeria Project Success Haiti Mission
Haiti, officially the Republic of Haiti, is a Caribbean country. Its capital is Port-au-Prince. Haitian Creole and French are the official languages. Haiti's regional, historical, and ethno-linguistic position is unique for several reasons.
It was the first independent nation of Latin America and the Caribbean, the first black-led republic in the world, and the second republic in the Americas when it gained independence in 1804 as part of a successful slave revolution lasting nearly a decade.
It is one of only two independent nations in the Americas (along with Canada). It is the poorest country in the Americas as measured by the Human Development Index. Political violence has occurred regularly throughout its history, leading to government instability.
The island has had a history of destructive earthquakes. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on January 12, 2010 and devastated Haiti. The highest reliable death count was estimated at 220,000. The Presidential palace, Parliament and many other important structures were destroyed, along with countless homes and businesses, leaving hundreds of thousands of people homeless. The country has yet to recover from the 2010 earthquake (and other incidents).

Teen Activist- Teen Life
Good afternoon everyone!
I noticed last night that we all rush rush rush through life, and I asked myself, "WHY?"
It takes 9 months to make new life be born and if you see it that way then maybe it will help us all take our time and appreciate the life around us and what we have....
I walked into the store one day and there was a man that was working there that was missing one of his arms yet he was still trying to work, and then last night I saw a blind elderly man trying to walk to the store by himself with no help and I saw he was struggling so we stopped and helped him.
When I look back at just these two things I see people that have will-power to keep moving on and keep living there life! And they were in no rush and that's because they learned to appreciate life and what they have. We should all be able to slow down and keep going in life even when we get tried and want to quite.
These men inspired me and helped me realize that we truly can do anything we put our minds to and we don't need to be afraid to try or continue the fight through life.
We all have challenges and rough days, but we all have a different idea of what rough means. I hope after you read this you will try to slow down and appreciate your life before it passes you by. Always remember we all can do anything we truly put our minds and hearts to!
This is to everyone to not be discouraged. To keep your heads held high and your spirits up! Because even with a Rough day a Good day will come. You got to believe in yourself and who you are that you will overcome the Rough days to be able to appreciate the Good days to come!
xoxo,
Serenity

A Smart Teen's Recipe- Stuffed Zucchini- Try it...
Hey there, Teens!
I know sometimes we hate the healthy food and the veggies. When us teens see greens we think, "Oh that's going to taste nasty!" But now I have a good healthy yummy meal that yes is some greens and has veggies but you never know what you may like! For the second recipe I will give you a sweet treat. For being a good sport about trying it out.
This is something you and your family can make together and its something the whole family can eat if they want to start being healthier. You do need your greens and veggies!
It's something my aunt taught me how to cook home made. First things first wash your hands that's always very important, and make sure you have a clean working area. it takes 15 minutes to prep food and only 45 minutes to cook.
So you can have a healthy yummy homemade dinner within one hour! ands it something the whole family could love. your going to want to make sure you always preheat. For this dish your going to want to preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease or spray a baking dish. now were going to start Preparing. Cut the zucchini in half lengthwise. With a spoon, scoop out the seeds. Chop and reserve about 3/4 of the seeds for the stuffing. In a medium bowl mix together the ground turkey meat(its healthier), chopped onion bread crumbs egg and the reserved zucchini seeds.
Place the meat mixture equally into all of the zucchini halves; mixture should be piled up over the top. Place the filled zucchini halves into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes.
You may want to place foil or a cookie sheet underneath the baking dish because it tends to bubble over and splash. For about 8 serving you will need the following items; 4 medium zucchini, 1 pound ground turkey meat, 1 small onion(chopped up), 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs, and 1 egg beaten.
You can add squash, and any other veggies you like its up too, me and my aunt would try to add a new veggie to it when we made it each time so we can be trying something new!
SECOND Recipe- Something sweet.. So stay tuned!!!

Review: Louie's Pizza House Daytona Beach
While visiting the great state of Florida, patiently waiting for my beautiful sister who just loves taking the main US 1 highway instead of the 95 :). I decided to grab a bite to eat at the closest eatery I could see.
I popped in, unsure of what I wanted to eat... there was this really tall man being nice. Before I knew it, we were having conversation. Just chatting as if we met each other before. I hadn't even ordered yet.
So we introduce, I know now it's Louie, lol. So I place my order, a great pepperoni pizza and two drinks, Unbelievable prices compared to Las Vegas! Very comfortable friendly atmosphere.
We laughed and joked about silly things, life travels, and family. What I did learn from my dining at that Louie's Pizza House is that, Louie lovesssssssssssss his family. His sons are his joy. He went on and on about his sons and his wife. Louie's life lessons and advice plus great pizza, was at the right time and the right place! I will visit Louie's again. I didn't mind waiting at all for my sis.... this was a great dining experience!
Visiting Louie's website, I am not surprised we met, things happen for a reason! I am happy to know Louie's Pizza House is active in community projects!!!
LESSON FOR THE DAY...being nice to people should be contagious, you never know who you're going to meet!
Thank you for everything , Jean-Noel...

A Teen's Seven Sunday Goals
Good Afternoon Teen Friends! It's me Serena. I have a little motivational project for you that is helpful and that will keep you positive for your weeks to come.
Every Sunday write 7 goals, one for each day. These goals can be anything that you need to get done that you might have been setting aside. Also it can be anything that will help you stay on track and keep your head up.
I know its only Tuesday but take these few days to think of the goals for your upcoming week, it never hurts to be prepared. Your first week you may not get all 7 goals done, no one is perfect, so don’t get discouraged.
Always keep trying! And once you get 7 goals done you can start adding more to push yourself and show yourself, I DID IT! Your goals have to be positive and things that will benefit you each week to help you reach your life goals.
Hopefully this will reduce your stress about completing your long term goals because finishing or at least attempting each week to complete 7 minor goals will make your long term goals easier and easier to reach making you feel positive and motivated.
Put these 7 goals some where you will see them each morning. Whether that be your mirror or fridge or on your wall like a poster. Have it visible to remind you, “Oh, hey I got to do this! This is one of my little simple things I even do for myself!
By the way I didn’t finish all 7 goals my first week either. P.s. Perfect is not always being flawless but accepting your flaws and still being proud of who you are and keep moving on to accomplish your long term goals of who you want to be!
YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU THRIVE FOR!
xoxo,
Serena

Teen Rep Serena's Story. Stage 2 Thyroid Cancer.
Hi, I am Serena, and I am a teen activist for USA Equal Platforms blog.I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 Thyroid cancer on October 17, 2012.
It seems as though you will remember that date as if it was your birthday. My passion has been to model and tell my story.
Since I was little girl I would always dress up and practice the runway supermodel walk I would see on Americas Next Top Model. I was.., just never expecting to hear the words, “you have cancer.”
Even though I heard those words I knew I had to keep my head high because I knew there was more to my life.
Even though I heard those words I knew I had to keep my head high because I knew there was more to my life.
My doctor has told me that after the surgery there is no trace of cancer! I’m still in active treatment and the cancer can come back within the next 25 years.
Yes that sounds like a long time and if I lay down the fight and just let cancer win I won’t get to see 50 years old.
But that’s not how I’m going to let my life be because I got the opportunity to be a teen activist for USA Equal Platforms Blog and get the chance to let all the other teens in the world know that with any challenges you face you can survive!
So just remember sometimes things have to fall apart to start a new beginning.
Support our community mission here and purchase a very special gift! Neckties for a CAUSE!
